A glimpse of the current Electric Vehicle market in India

The electric vehicle industry of India is in its nascent stage but growing fast. Both central and the state governments are launching different schemes to incentivize the adoption of electric vehicles in India.

According to Auto News published in the Economic Times on April 4th, 2022, the number of registered electric vehicles running on Indian roads is 10,95,746.

According to the same report, India has registered a growth of 162 percent in the sale of electric vehicles. The type of electric vehicle registering the most increase was buses with 1,250 percent. Then two-wheelers’ with a rise of 423 percent, followed by four-wheelers by 238 percent, and lastly, three-wheelers by 75 percent.

However, India's number of electric vehicle charging stations in India is remarkably low at around 1,700, which is roughly one charging station for every 588 electric vehicles.

To bridge this gap between the electric vehicles and electric charging stations in India, independent companies like 'Charzer' are playing a big part. It is a company based in Bangalore providing electric charging stations for electric vehicles.

The company's EV charging app, available both on Google Play and the Apple store, helps you locate all the nearby electric charging stations all across India and make payments using the app.

The app comes with practical features like the option to book a charging slot that is convenient for you, and with the app, you can also monitor your charging session in real-time.

There are many benefits attached to the adoption of electric vehicles. This vehicle comes with fewer moving parts. In addition, electric vehicles come with the capacity to save energy using regenerative braking mechanisms. They are more efficient than vehicles that use internal combustion for power, and it is good for the environment.
